Transform learning with Teddy Talker™, our unique introductory multisensory tool to build and connect important speech, language and literacy skills. Though our kid-friendly bear face and its moveable pieces, children use hearing, vision, touch and movement to learn about speech sounds and connect them to print. B.E.A.R.R. means you are building early articulation and reading readiness skills!
Teddy is kid-powered! Your students physically BUILD and SAY the sound while using manipulatives for Teddy’s mouth. Manipulatives are extremely effective in providing movement and touch for some children who may need extra multisensory feedback, and the Teddy Talker® system provides visual input as well.
18 manipulatives and 4 cues work together to build 26 alphabet sounds. After cutting out the printable mouth pieces and cues, and placing it on the bear face, children can then “teach”, “tell” and “show” Teddy what to do with his mouth by building the sound.
This book focuses on: introducing the printable Teddy Talker™ Bear Face, manipulatives, and cues;
extending letter-sound skills in the B.E.A.R.R. Track Game; connecting alphabet activities to the Teddy Talker™ Visual Alphabet printable, which is included!
The manipulatives and Bear Face come in a colorful version for ease of use, and black/white version for the child to personalize and color. The “Building Blocks” section provides more colorful Teddy visuals, describes how to produce the sound and the pieces (numbered on back) needed for it. This information can also be sent home to families.
One important goal of these and other Teddy Talker™ materials is for children to produce the most frequent sound for each letter of the alphabet.
